Check the base and extras
Water, black coffee, milk, plant beverages and coconut milk have different compositions. Syrups, juices, sugar, condensed milk or large amounts of cream change the numbers. Use a measurable base and include every ingredient.
La Mesa shakes use a specific powder portion. Shakes can replace a meal when their ingredients and amounts provide the energy and nutrients appropriate for the patient’s needs. Their composition should fit the individual plan. If you change protein or product flavor, review the label.
Practical preparation
Let coffee and tea cool before blending. Do not seal hot liquids in a blender not designed for them. If caffeine disrupts sleep or causes discomfort, try decaf and discuss persistent symptoms.
- Do not add fruit or nuts by eye if using the recipe’s calculation.
- A sugar-free beverage may contain carbohydrates from other ingredients.
- Wash the blender after each use; refrigerate perishable ingredients.
